Shankar Krishnan
Shankar Krishnan has worked in academia, medical device industry, and hospitals. He was the Founding Chair of BME and a Full Professor at WIT, Boston. He is an invited professor at PUJ in Colombia. Previously, he worked at MGH (Harvard affiliate) and universities in Illinois and Miami. At NTU, Singapore, he was Bioengineering Founding Head, BME research center Founding Director, and received $15 million grant. His research interests include biomedical signals/image processing, telemedicine, A.I., medical robotics, and BME education. He has over 300 publications, memberships in IEEE, BMES, AAMI. For his contributions to BME, he received IFMBE John Hopps Distinguished Service Award and Fellowships in AIMBE and IUPESM. He was IFMBE President (2018–2022) and is IUPESM Vice President (2022-2025).
