The International Union for Physical and Engineering Sciences in Medicine (IUPESM) is pleased to announce that Athens, Greece has been selected as the host city for the IUPESM World Congress 2031.

The official bid presentations took place during the IUPESM World Congress 2025 in Adelaide and followed by voting. Two outstanding proposals were submitted by Greece and Japan, each represented by their respective national societies in medical physics and biomedical engineering. Both delegations presented compelling visions for hosting the Congress in Athens and Kyoto, respectively.

The IUPESM World Congress on Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering, held every three years, is jointly organized by the International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP) and the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE). This flagship event continues to advance the integration of physical and engineering sciences in medicine, fostering global collaboration and innovation.
