Dr Pai-Chi Li<\/strong> [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_toggle title=”Read biography” admin_label=”Pai-Chi Li” _builder_version=”4.27.3″ _module_preset=”default” title_text_align=”center” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n Pai-Chi Li is currently the President of the Asian Institute of Technology. He received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University in 1987 and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1994. He joined Acuson Corporation, Mountain View, CA, as a member of the Technical Staff in June 1994. In August 1997, he returned to the National Taiwan University, where he has been a Distinguished Professor and served as Vice President for Research and Development from 2019-2023, Associate Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from 2015-2018, and the Founding Director of the Institute of Biomedical Electronics and Bioinformatics from 2006-2009. Dr Li is an IEEE Fellow, IAMBE Fellow, AIUM Fellow, and SPIE Fellow. He has won numerous awards, including the ISTU Fry Award, the AIUM Joseph Holmes Basic Science Pioneer Award, the IEEE UFFC Distinguished Lecturer Award, the IFMBE Otto Schmitt Award, the IFMBE Vladimir K. Mahesh, MS, PhD, is the Professor of Radiology and Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD. He is also the Professor of Environmental Health and Engineering at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, MD. He is the Chair of the Radiation Control Committee for the Johns Hopkins Health Systems. Prior to that he served as Chief Physicist for the Johns Hopkins Hospital over 29 years.<\/p>\n Dr Mahesh is the chair of science committee and member of the executive committee for the International Organization of Medical Physics (IOMP) and is one of the co-chairs of the scientific program committee for the World Medical Physics Conference to be held in Adelaide, Australia in 2025.<\/p>\n Dr Mahesh is also the President for the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) in 2025 and will be the Board Chair in 2026.<\/p>\n Dr Mahesh is board certified from the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and is a member of the Radiation Control Advisory Board (RCAB) for the State of Maryland. His research interests are in medical imaging, particularly in areas of computed tomography (CT), cone beam CT, interventional fluoroscopy and artificial intelligence. In addition, he has broad experience and interests in the medical imaging physics, radiation and MR safety and radiation policies. Dr Mahesh strongly strives to enhance radiation risk communications with patients, public and the media.<\/p>\n Dr Mahesh is the Associate Editor for the Journal of American College of Radiology (since 2007). He served as member of the Board of Chancellors and Chair of Medical Physics Commission for the American College of Radiology (ACR) (2017-2023). He served as treasurer and board member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) (2016-2022). He has served as 2nd vice-president of Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). He also serves as subject-matter-expert (SME) to the United Nations-International Atomic Energy Agency (UN-IAEA) and is the national contact person of the United States and is a member of a small group of experts on medical exposure for the United Nation Scientific Committee on Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR). Dr Mahesh was the 2nd medical physicist in the United States to serve as president of radiological society, namely, Maryland Radiological Society and is the only medical physicist to have served on the board of Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT). He also served as chair of faculty senate for the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (2017-2019).<\/p>\n
