His research expertise spans radiation track structure physics, nanoparticle radiosensitisation, and the application of artificial intelligence in radiation therapy.<\/p>\n<p>A recipient of numerous prestigious awards, including the Kenneth Clarke Journal Award and the Boyce Worthley Young Achiever Award, Dr Douglass has made significant contributions to the field of medical physics through his research and clinical work. He is actively involved in the development of novel techniques in radiation therapy, particularly in the areas of machine learning and optical scanning technologies.<\/p>\n<p>As an educator, he supervises PhD and master&#8217;s students while contributing to the medical physics program at multiple institutions. As one of Australia\u2019s leading researchers in biomedical engineering, Karen is passionate about bridging the divide between research and industry. In 2008, she founded the Medical Device Partnering Program (MDPP) Ideas Incubator, a program designed to facilitate early-stage innovation and collaborations across the medtech sector. Sixteen years later, this award-winning program continues to support early-stage innovation in the medtech sector. Karen has held a number of external roles including membership of the Therapeutic Goods Administration\u2019s Advisory Committee on Medical Devices, the Australian Medical Research Advisory Board, and the National Imaging Facility Board. She is a Fellow of the Australian Academies of Technology and Engineering and of Health &amp; Medical Sciences and an Honorary Fellow of Engineers Australia. He received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University in 1987 and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, in 1994. He joined Acuson Corporation, Mountain View, CA, as a member of the Technical Staff in June 1994. In August 1997, he returned to the National Taiwan University, where he has been a Distinguished Professor and served as Vice President for Research and Development from 2019-2023, Associate Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from 2015-2018, and the Founding Director of the Institute of Biomedical Electronics and Bioinformatics from 2006-2009. Dr Li is an IEEE Fellow, IAMBE Fellow, AIUM Fellow, and SPIE Fellow. He has won numerous awards, including the ISTU Fry Award, the AIUM Joseph Holmes Basic Science Pioneer Award, the IEEE UFFC Distinguished Lecturer Award, the IFMBE Otto Schmitt Award, the IFMBE Vladimir K. Mahesh, MS, PhD, is the Professor of Radiology and Cardiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, MD. He is also the Professor of Environmental Health and Engineering at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, MD. He is the Chair of the Radiation Control Committee for the Johns Hopkins Health Systems. Prior to that he served as Chief Physicist for the Johns Hopkins Hospital over 29 years.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Mahesh is the President for the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) in 2025 and will be the Board Chair in 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Mahesh is board certified from the American Board of Radiology (ABR). His research interests are in medical imaging, particularly in areas of computed tomography (CT) &amp; cone beam CT, interventional fluoroscopy and artificial intelligence. Dr Mahesh strongly strives to enhance radiation risk communications with patients, public and the media.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Mahesh is the Associate Editor for the Journal of American College of Radiology. He has served on the board of the American College of Radiology (ACR) and Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. He has served as 2nd vice-president of Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). He also serves as subject-matter-expert (SME) to the United Nations-International Atomic Energy Agency (UN-IAEA) and is a member of a small group of experts on medical exposure for the United Nation Scientific Committee on Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR). He also served as chair of faculty senate for the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (2017-2019).<\/p>\n<p>Dr Mahesh has published more than 160 peer-reviewed publications and given more than 170 international talks and several grand rounds. Dr Mahesh is the author of the textbook titled \u2018MDCT Physics: The Basics \u2013 Technology, Image Quality and Radiation Dose\u2019 (also translated in Japanese language).<\/p>\n<p>Dr Mahesh is a fellow of AAPM (2007), ACR (2009), ACMP (2011), Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT) (2011) and International Organization of Medical Physics (IOMP) (2019).<\/p>\n<p>Dr Mahesh is an elected council member of the National Council of Radiation Protection and Measurements (NCRP) since 2015 and to the International Council of Radiation Protection (ICRP) Committee 3 (Medicine) since July 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Mahesh is the chair of science committee and member of the executive committee for the International Organization of Medical Physics (IOMP).<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.23.1&#8243;
